Grand Opening Rates as of September, 2009 (subject to change)

Proofreading:

          If your manuscript is fairly polished but you need a final review for simple errors of spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and grammar, the rate is as follows:

          $0.75 per page      average turn around time: 1 week

          $1.00 per page      rush proofing: 3-4 days

Line by Line Copy Edits:

          Includes the above as well as clarity, flow, continuity of details, word choice, inconsistencies, and voice.

          Pages 1-75          $1.50 per page

          Pages 76-200       $1.25 per page

          Pages 200-450     $1.00 per page

          *anything over 450 pages to be negotiated

          Average turn around time: 2-3 weeks (depending on page count)

          Rush job: 7-10 days (depending on page count)  rate + $50.00

Formatting:

          Different publishers require different formatting. If provided with a style sheet or outline of specific formatting requirements, I will gladly format the manuscript for you, for as many styles as requested.

          First format $25.00 – each additional format of same manuscript $10.00

Research/Fact Checking:

          If you are in need of minor research/fact checking, allowing yourself more time to plot or work out kinks in your manuscript, I would love to assist you. Provide a detailed outline of the specifics you want and a brief example of how the information will be used (ie: murder mystery involving a doctor, using a drug/medicine that will not show in an autopsy 2 days after death).

          I am an information junkie and love learning new things, which this allows me to do while helping someone at the same time.

          Rate: negotiable depending on detail, amount of research/examples requested, and difficulty in locating said information.

Payment terms:

          Cash, check, money order, cashiers check, and paypal.

          Sorry, no credit or debit cards.

          50% payment up front with remainder due within 5 days of your receipt of completed project.

          Note: research/fact checking deposit calculated once rate negotiated and expectations finalized.

Pages:

          Pages are based on 11 pt Verdana, double-spaced, 8½ X 11 paper; approximately 325 words per page.

Referrals:

          For each author you refer, that I complete a project for, you will receive a one-time $20.00 discount on your next submission to me. The $20.00 discount must be used on your next submission and no more than 2 referral discounts can be used on a submission at one time (ie: 3 referral discount = $60.00 / $40.00 to be used on your next submission, the remaining $20.00 to be used on the submission after that, etc.)

Basic Information:

          I use the track changes option on all manuscripts, allowing you to see everything I have done as well as giving you the final say to accept or decline any change(s). This is your manuscript. I am here as a neutral 3^rd party that has not written, read, & re-read the manuscript so many times that I may not see certain things. I am here to help clean up the manuscript, make suggestions &/or corrections, and assist in making your masterpiece shine, not re-write it as my own.

          All work is always confidential and handled completely neutral.

          I accept all genres of fiction including, but not limited to, historical, romance, thriller/suspense, chic lit, erotica, western, science fiction, and much more. As stated above, I am neutral/non-judgmental when working a manuscript.

          The “average” times listed are the times I allow myself to do a complete and thorough job.

          I do not re-write whole books/chapters. If a manuscript is submitted in complete and utter disarray, I will send it back within 48 hours with a complete refund of all but $20.00 of any monies deposited.
